Britney Spears has won a victory in the fight over her supervision. A court in Los Angeles judges that she can choose her lawyer herself. Spears had made an emotional speech just like a few weeks ago.
The 39-year-old pop star now gets former federal prosecutor Mathew Rosengart as her lawyer. The hearing followed three weeks after Spears first addressed the court. “Let me go, let me have my life,” she said at the time.
Spears curatorship arose after the singer had a public breakdown in 2008. The 39-year-old star has since been under her fathers curator, leaving her no control over her finances, property or other aspects of her life.
Spears said to feel like a slave to the people around her. She said she was forced to take medication and also has an intrauterine device against her will. “I have been told that I am not allowed to marry and not have a child within the conservatory.” Spears has indicated that she would love to have a child.
Outside the Los Angeles court, many Spears fans had once again gathered to express their support.
