Bruggink has a message for PSV after De Jong exit: ‘Should they look at it internally’

The way in which John de Jong‘s resignation has acted, ESPN analyst Arnold Bruggink calls โ€œPSV unworthy.โ€ Kenneth Perez does not entirely agree with his colleague.
This week, it was announced that De Jong is quitting as technical manager at PSV. The director was no longer supported by the supervisory board and then quit. However, the news was already leaked prematurely. โ€œI find it unworthy of PSV what happened in the last few days, especially how it was brought out,โ€ Bruggink says about the situation at Dit was het Weekend. โ€œI think PSV really needs to look at that internally.โ€
Perez makes a slightly different sound. โ€œWith fired trainers, they also always say: it would be chic if they had done this or that… That just never happens. Everything leaks out in football, it’
s almost impossible to manage. I have to say, if what Marcel Brands explained about the bid for Cody Gakpo is true, I understand that they said no. These were also bonuses that were not realistic, which would mean that the amount would be lower.โ€
Finally, Perez also says that he is surprised at the big finger that the Supervisory Board has in store at PSV and Ajax. โ€œThe Supervisory Board is more powerful than we thought. At Ajax, too, they overrule the technical directors there too.โ€
