London‘s metro network has had the busiest morning on Monday since the start of the British corona pandemic in March 2020, with the crowds on the metro rising as schools are reopen and people return to the office.
Approximately 831,000 passengers were transported between 7am and 11am on Monday. That’s 17 percent more than last Tuesday. The numbers were not compared by the carrier to last week Monday, as there was then a national holiday with fewer travelers than on a regular Monday.

Transport for London expects the total number of passengers on the metro to reach more than half before the pandemic on Monday and in buses to approximately two-thirds.
