Cabinet examines paid leave after stillbirth or miscarriage

The cabinet is looking at whether there can be a few days of paid leave for people who have to deal with miscarriage or a stillborn child. Thats what demissionary Secretary of Great Tit said in the Chamber today.

GroenLinks and SGP believe that such an arrangement should be made. In New Zealand, a law was passed last month giving entitlement to three days of paid leave after miscarriage or stillbirth. SGP and GroenLinks want such an arrangement in our country as well.

Earlier, the Cabinet said to look at a settlement for funeral leave. This study also looks at whether something can be arranged for people affected by miscarriage or stillbirth.

GreenLeft MP Maatoug believes it important that the cabinet does everything it can to get more attention on this subject. โ€œPeople who go through this often do not dare to make this negotiable.โ€

SGP MP Stoffer speaks of a โ€œhuge impactโ€ when a pregnancy unexpectedly ends in a miscarriage or a child born dead. According to the Member of the House, it is understandable that in such a dramatic event you cannot get directly to the workplace.

The investigation is about to start soon and the results are expected before the end of the year, said demissionary minister Great Tit today in the Chamber.
