Cambuur delivers Almere City cold shower and first defeat of season

Cambuur Leeuwaren has played in the first division against number two Almere City. Henk de Jongs team won with no less than 7-2 in its own house. It is the first league layer for Almere, which would have recaptured the leading position at De Graafschap.

The goal feast started early for the Frisians because after three minutes Mitchell Paulissen shot. Not much later Delvechio Blackson already scored the equalizer with a clever distance shot that was much like a first move.

The surprisingly well presenting Almere had little more to bring in. Halfway through the first half, three goals had to be cashed in seven minutes.

After the 4-1 rest mode, Cambuur scored three more times in the seven minutes after rest. Damon Mirani set the final score in injury time at 7-2.

The Graafschap frontrunner

Almere City has 27 points after twelve matches. Cambuur has played 2 points less, but also a match less. The Graafschap is the new leader with 28 points.
