‘Cambuur gets goalkeeper, who played against Ajax in the Champions League last year’

SC Cambuur has a successor for the departed Sonny Stevens. When the final touches are put on i, goalkeeper Joรฃo Virginia comes over from Everton, reports Voetbal International.
The medium speaks of a rental deal with The Toffees. The 22-year-old Virginia has already built up quite a resume before his age. For example, he was already under contract with Arsenal, Sporting Portugal, Everton, Reading and Benfica. At the latter club, the Portuguese received his youth education. In 2018, he was first goalkeeper at Portugal O19, which crowned European champion.
At Everton and Sporting, he was already below the bar in the main force, although a definitive breakthrough remained out. Last season he was still the closing post with the Portuguese in the group game with Ajax in the Champions League (4-2). Cambuur hopes to present Virginia soon and has Robbin Ruiter in mind as second goalkeeper.
So far, Cambuur made two purchases. Striker Remco Balk came over from FC Utrecht on rent, while Silvester van der Water settled down at Orlando City FC in Leeuwarden after an American adventure.
