Chadli follows suit other Red Devils with return to Jupiler Pro League

It had been in the air for a while and now its official too. Nacer Chadli continues his career at KVC Westerlo. He follows the example of Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen, who also started working in the Jupiler Pro League.
Westerlo announces Tuesday that it is renting Chadli from Basaksehir for one season. At the top Turkish club, the outside player only has a one-year contract until mid-2023, with Chadli playing 51 times for Basaksehir over the past two seasons. In it, he managed to score six times and was also good for six assists.
This is not the first time that Chadli has (temporarily) come to play on the Belgian fields. In the 2019/2020 season, the Red Devil played on rent for RSC Anderlecht. Purple-white rented it from AS Monaco at the time. In the past, Chadli also played for AGOVV Apeldoorn, FC Twente, Tottenham Hotspur and West Bromwich Albion.
At Westerlo, Chadli hopes to be in the spotlight with Belgian national coach Roberto Martรญnez with a view to the World Cup in Qatar. His last international match dates back to July 2021, with the attacker playing for the Red Devils 66 times in total. This summer, Alderweireld (Royal Antwerp FC) and Vertonghen (Anderlecht) also decided to return to their native country.
