Champions League echec booms: Didnt work out for us, at Ajax

Ismael Saibari has clear ambitions at PSV. The multi-deployable player wants to become a supporting force in Ruud van Nistelrooij‘s team, in midfield.
Saibari recently played his first game in the Champions League preliminary rounds. The Moroccan said he had โ€œgoose bumpsโ€ when he heard the anthem. PSV lost to Rangers FC in the final heat, while Ajax won 4-0 a few weeks later. โ€œBut that didn’
t hurt any extra,โ€ Saibari told Voetbal International. โ€œBecause I know we can actually do this. Only when it had to happen, it just didn‘t work out for us and at Ajax it did.โ€
Van Nistelrooij mainly uses Saibari as a right-winger, due to Noni Madueke’
s absentia. โ€œUltimately, I want to be that box-to-box player at PSV in the long run,โ€ he explains. โ€œBut at the moment, there is a lot of competition for me in that position with Joey Veerman and Ibrahim Sangarรฉ. So I understand that I‘m not getting the chance to do it yet. They are further and better than I am at the moment. I’m learning from them and that‘s great.โ€
Saibari is crystal clear about the title opportunities of the people of Eindhoven. โ€œYes, of course, we have to win the title, that’
s part of PSV,โ€ he knows. โ€œI think this is possible. If you don‘t believe in this, you shouldn’t even start the season. And with us, everyone believes that we can be champions. In any case, we have enough quality for it.โ€
