Champions League this season with brand new offside technology

Champions League referees will be helped by a new semi-automatic offside technology while assessing an offside case this season. After numerous tests, the international rules committee IFAB has decided to implement the system in the multimillion-dollar ball.
The semi-automatic offside technology should make it even easier for the referees. The ball will be equipped with a sensor and cameras that determine in detail where players are located, it can be determined whether or not someone is sidelined. If so, the system notifies you as soon as a player in an offside position receives the ball.
This new technology will also be used at the World Cup in Qatar, which starts in November, as FIFA announced last month. Next Wednesday, when Real Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt meet in the battle for the European Supercup, the system will be used for the first time. The video below shows how it works.
