Marc Cucurella makes the switch from Brighton & Hove Albion to Chelsea. The clubs have reached an agreement on the transfer fee, reports Fabrizio Romano.
For a long time, Cucurella was Chelseas dream asset, which trumps Manchester City. They too were bidding on Brightons left back, but Cucurella wanted to go to Chelsea. According to Romano, Brighton and Chelsea agree on a transfer fee of 63 million euros. Cucurella travels to London on Thursday to complete the transfer to Chelsea. Once Cucurella has passed the medical examination, he signs a contract until the summer of 2028.
Cucurella (24) comes from FC Barcelonas youth school, but did not break through there and left for Getafe. With that club, he managed to eliminate Ajax in the eighth finals of the Europa League, among other things. That summer, he left for Brighton.
