Chelsea through to semi-finals

Chelsea is in the semi-finals of the Champions League. The Blues lost in a rather sleep-inducing match with 0-1 against FC Porto. That was after Chelsea‘s 0-2 win a week ago, enough to reach the next round.
In advance, Chelsea and Porto knew what to do: the Londoners had to defend a 2-0 head start, while Porto had to make it up for a spot in the semi-finals. Hakim Ziyech, just like in the outbound match, had to start on the couch with Chelsea.
The first half did not produce any fireworks in Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, where the match had to be played by the coronar elements in Portugal. In the first act, both teams did not even shoot between the piles once. That happened this Champions League season only once before: at the meeting between Dinamo Kiev and Ferencváros.

0 – Chelsea v Porto is only the second match in this season’s UEFA Champions League to see neither side muster a shot on target in the first half, after Dynamo Kyiv v Ferencvaros in December. Ebbing.

The race didn‘t get much more spectacular in the second half. The two teams seemed to be satisfied with a tie. Ziyech was allowed to invade Chelsea for the last five minutes. In injury time, the Moroccan put teammate Christian Pulisic only for the goalkeeper. The American just didn’t score. Yet the strike did not end in a goalless draw. In injury time, Mehdi Taremi made surprisingly the 0-1 with a beautiful omisce.

WOW! 👏 It was too late, but FC Porto‘s final chord is allowed 😱 Mehdi Taremi with a big contender for goal of the year 🤩 #ZiggoSport #UCL #CHEPOR

Still, that hit wasn’t enough for Porto to take down Chelsea. As a result, The Blues advance to the semi-finals of the Champions League. The formation of Thomas Tuchel will compete against the winner of the diptych between Liverpool and Real Madrid in that semi-final. In the first duel Real won 3-1 from Liverpool, Wednesday evening the return is on the program.
