Christopher Nolan and other directors try to save UK cinemas

Christopher Nolan and other industry representatives have asked the Government of Great Britain to support local cinema. In an open letter, they asked to provide additional funding for an industry that has been significantly affected by the coronavirus pandemic. They noted that the government has already allocated funds to this issue, but they may be insufficient.

Industry representatives fear that if not to help cinemas, in the future it will inflict a monstrous blow to the British film industry as a whole. According to them, now the situation is such that the whole direction stands โ€œon the edge of the abyssโ€ Except Nolan, the appeal was signed: Ridley Scott, Steve McQueen, Jude Law, producers of โ€œBondโ€ and so on .
