Cillessen cant stop Barça: all-defining La Liga weekend coming

FC Barcelona played the grumpy in Valencia after the midweek home defeat against Granada. The Catalans bowed a backlog against Jasper Cillessen‘s club and are still fully involved in the title of the country, with the all-defining clash with Atlético Madrid on its way.
Barcelona missed the leading position in the Primera División during his overtaking game on Thursday and had to rejoin Atlético and Real Madrid three days later. The team of Alfred Schreuder — who replaced the suspended Ronald Koeman — picked up the thread in Valencia and seemed to be doing business early. However, Pedri failed to crown a wonderful attack and Cillessen saved up close on a stake by Ronald Araújo.
In the course of the first half, Valencia showed its teeth again. José Gayà got the biggest chance on behalf of Los Che in the remainder of the first half, but the opening goal fell only after rest. Marc-André ter Segen claimed in vain an offense after a corner kick, which was nodded in by Gabriel Paulista: 1-0.

Then it went fast: a quarter of an hour later Barça stood ahead. After the hands of ex-PSV’er Toni Lato, the guests received a penalty: the lousy effort of Lionel Messi was still parked by Jasper Cillessen, who was passed after a series of rebounds. A little later, the goalkeeper saved on a headball by compatriot Frenkie de Jong, but was again passed in the aftermath, this time by Antoine Griezmann: 1-2. Twenty minutes before Messi signed with a wonderful free kick for the 1-3, after which Barça seemed to be in a safe haven.

In the final phase, however, it became exciting. Carlos Soler tried it from a great distance, and with his grenade impact took care of the connection. However, Valencia could not complete its comeback in the remaining seven minutes plus extra time. Barça stands next to Real Madrid on spot two again and can get ready for an all-important weekend: one day after Barcelona-Atlético Madrid, number two Real Madrid and number four Seville meet.
