City has no problems with Gladbach and is almost sure of quarterfinals

Manchester City has done excellent business against Borussia Mönchengladbach in the eighth final of the Champions League. The Citizens won convincingly with 0-2, making a spot in the quarter-finals already close.

The meeting between Gladbach and City had to take place in Budapest, Hungary due to the inntravel restrictions. In the Puskas Arena, City dominated the game from the first minute.
In the 29th minute, Pep Guardiolas formation broke the spell. Bernardo Silva managed to get a precise advance João Cancelo behind goalkeeper Yannick Sommer: 0-1. In the remainder of the second half City still got a number of chances, but the team did not double the score. Gladbach didnt come to a single shot in the first half.

In the second half City was still the better team, although in the 63th minute Gladbach also came to a good opportunity via Alassane Pléa. In the final phase of the competition Gladbach hoped for a penalty kick. Jonas Hoffman went to the grass after contact with the outstanding Cancelo, but neither the referee nor the VAR awarded a penalty to Marco Roses team. So thats how the match ended in a 0-2 win for City. As a result, the leader of the Premier League is already in the Quarter-Finals of the Champions League.
