Climate activists block access roads to Dover port

Climate activists have been blocking access roads to Dover port since Friday morning. British media reports that two groups of more than forty people are involved in the protest, which calls for the government to isolate all homes.

The Insulate Britain action group blocked a busy highway near London several times earlier this week. Those actions came to an end when the government managed to secure a court order. Anyone who blocks the highway in question risks a two-year prison sentence and a fine.

Port police report that trucks and other vehicles are unable to reach Dover Port. The port in the South East of England is the UKs leading gateway for trade from the European Union.

The protest comes at a time when the UK is having problems with supply due to Brexit. It also takes action worldwide on Friday for more action against climate change.
