Club Brugge has released its player list for the upcoming Europa League matches against Dinamo Kiev. There is no place for one of the five Dutch in the selection: Tahith Chong can not mean anything for his temporary employer in a European context.
Club Brugge has only nineteen players enrolled in the UEFA, but there is no place for Chong on the player list. Blauw-Zwart was allowed to put a maximum of three winter acquisitions on the list. Bas Dost and Stefano Denswil came to the Jan Breydelstadion earlier and were sure. So the third newcomer is not Chong, but Nabil Dirar. Both players were presented at the same time Saturday night.
Chong will therefore not be able to take action against Dinamo Kiev, the Europa League opponent of Club Bruges on 18 and 25 February. On Wednesday he made his official debut in Belgium. Club Brugge won the cup match of the modest Olsa Brakel with 3-1, partly thanks to one hit by Chong.
Domper for @ClubBrugge: Chong is not entitled to play for @EuropaLeague. Uefa only allows three newcomers on the European list, Clement opts for Dost, Dirar and Denswil. #clubbrugge @sportwereld_be
