Club Brugge did good business in the city derby against Cercle Brugge on Friday night. Blauwzwart managed to win no less than 4-0 in his own house. In Germany, Borussia Dortmund is the new frontrunner after a tight victory against 1899 Hoffenheim. Marco Reus scored the only goal.
Club Brugge – Cercle Brugge 4-0
Cercle Brugge started the season badly and had something to make up for against city rival Club Brugge. The game started fiercely and Club Brugge had trouble with the physical play of the visitors. Jean Marcelin went hard on Casper Nielsen after ten minutes. The audience shouted for a red card, but the referee did not go along with that.
Cercle got the better chances, but it was Club Brugge that should have reached a 1-0 lead by Skov Olsen, but the Dane moved aside. However, the Dane made up for his mistake and provided the lead just before rest. In the second half, the home team ran out and ended up 4-0 due to their own goal by Marcelin, Nielsen and Roman Yaremchuk. Club Brugge is second in the Jupiler Pro League due to the victory and sees that Royal Antwerp FC is at the top without losing points. Cercle can be found in sixteenth place.
With luck: Yaremchuk! 🍀 The multi-million dollar asset puts 4-0 on the leaderboard 👀 #ZiggoSport #JupilerProLeague #CluCer pic.twitter.com/xGUKWPD4ue

Borussia Dortmund – Hoffenheim 1899
Borussia Dortmund has been the temporary leader of the Bundesliga since Friday evening. Those Schwarzgelben did not convince Hoffenheim in their own house, but crossed the line by an early hit by Marcus Reus. Borussia showed the better game and had the most chances, but Anthony Modeste, Sébastien Hallers replacement, was unable to distinguish himself in the game.
Dortmund thus takes ten points out of four duels and is now the number one in Germany. However, Bayern Munich has yet to take action and can take over the leading position again with a victory. Der Rekordmeister will visit FC Union Berlin on Saturday.
