Jeffrey Talan and sc Heerenveen split after this season. The current interim assistant received an offer to work in the youth school of the Frisians, but he ignored it.
Talan, together with Peter Reekers and interim head coach Ole Tobiasen, was responsible for the revival of Heerenveen in recent weeks. The Frisians are still competing for the final playoff ticket, while they had to look down anxiously a few weeks ago. Yet both parties are not going through with each other. Talan was unable to stay involved in the first team and was offered a position in the academy, but thanked for that.
This brings an end to the years of employment of the eight-time Dutch international at Heerenveen. As a player, Talan was active at the Abe Lenstra Stadium for seven seasons and then worked for the Frisians in various roles for another twelve years. It is not yet clear what his next step will be.
Ferry de Haan, technical manager of sc Heerenveen, responds to the departure of Talan on the official channels. “We are sorry that Jeffrey chose not to take up our offer, but respect his choice. We want to thank Jeffrey for what he has meant to the club and wish him every success in his further career.”
The roads of Jeffrey Talan (50) and sc Heerenveen will separate after this season. An offer to remain active within the clubs academy is ignored by the current interim assistant. #scHeerenveen
