Consequences for Feyenoord: AS Roma puts place 6 on the line against degradant

AS Roma has risked its sixth place in Serie A. The 1-1 against Venezia — which is already degrading at the highest level after one year — could also have consequences for Feyenoord.
José Mourinhos team was surprised immediately after the kick-off and David Okereke nodded in 0-1 in the first minute. After a silly rapping move by Sofian Kiyine, the guests still came to rest with his tens. Roma did not use the numerical majority for a long time, but old Eredivision-known Niki Mäenpää was passed by Eldor Shomurodov fifteen minutes before time. However, it stayed at 1-1, despite 46 (!) goal attempts and four balls against the aluminum.

Within 1 minute, the touch for Venezia 🏹 At Roma they are not quite awake 😴 Okereke is released and headlines hit! 🙌 pic.twitter.com/5CeToV7oLV

Roma has failed to reach fifth place alongside archrival SS Lazio and could be passed by Atalanta Bergamo and Fiorentina later in the weekend. The fifth and sixth place in Italy are good for reaching the Europa League group stage: however, if Roma still drops to seventh or eight, it must win the Conference League final against Feyenoord to achieve that. If Roma finishes lower than place six in Serie A and wins the final match of Feyenoord, Feyenoord will not start in the pool phase next season, but in the preliminaries of the Europa League. The Giallorossi will play their last league match against Torino just before that final.

Red for Kiyine! 🟥 A dumb red card for the Belgian and Venezia must move on with 10 men 😱 #ZiggoSport #SerieA #RomaVenezia pic.twitter.com/Feled91Z26
