Corona at Palace Officer Norwegian Royal

King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway are quarantined as a precaution. A staff member of the palace discovered the coronavirus, as the Norwegian royal family announced on Thursday.

The Queen has had close contact with the employee in question but has not yet had any signs of disease. In addition to the king couple, fourteen other palace workers have been quarantined.

The quarantine is not expected to have a major impact on the royal couple‘s programme. Harald will continue working from the summer residence Bygdø KongsÃ¥rd. For example, he calls in from his home office on Friday to lead the Council of Ministers.

Harald’s only been back at work a few weeks. The 83-year-old Norwegian king was out of the running after a heart surgery until the beginning of November.
