Customs finds cocaine between shrimp and wine in Rotterdam harbour

Customs found drugs in two different containers in the port of Rotterdam. In total, almost 260 kilos of cocaine were discovered in packages of one kilo each.

The drugs were hidden in a refrigerated container with frozen shrimp and a container with bottles of wine, both from a ship from Ecuador. Both containers were destined for a company in Rotterdam, which, according to Customs, seems to have nothing to do with drug smuggling.

The Rotterdam Public Prosecutor’s Office, Customs, FIOD and seaport police are investigating the origin and destination of the cocaine. The drugs have now been destroyed.
