Cyclist attacks and gets attacked almost instantly by alligator in Florida.

A man was injured Monday morning when he was attacked by an alligator. The victim cycled through Halpatiokee Regional Park in Stuart, north of Palm Beach in Florida, when things went wrong.

The man lost his balance and fell into the water from the bike path. A female alligator about 2.7 meters long went to the man and bit him. The man managed to get loose from the animal and crawled to a side, where a bystander could help him.

Charlie Shannon, who was walking his dog at the time, tells WPTV that the victim was injured to his leg, especially his hip should have taken it off. โ€œIt was almost 1.5 meters lower than I was at the time, so it was hard to get him out of the water.

Drawn out of the water

Shannon was able to make a loop with the dog leash and together with five others he was able to pull the cyclist out of the water.

The victim was eventually transported by helicopter to a hospital where he is treated for his injuries.

The alligator was caught after the incident and transferred to a special shelter.
