‘Danilo makes piquant transfer: Brazilian swaps Ajax for Feyenoord’

Danilo makes the piquant switch from Ajax to Feyenoord, reports include the Algemeen Dagblad and Voetbal International. The 23-year-old Brazilian walks out of his contract in Amsterdam and signs a four-year contract with the archrival from Rotterdam.
Danilo came to thirteen Eredivisie duels this season, in which he scored twice. Especially after the winter break, however, the striker played a supporting role, behind Sรฉbastien Haller and Brian Brobbey. Ajax did make an attempt at the end of last year to renew its contract, partly with a view to a transfer fee, AD knows. Danilo, however, found that not to express enough appreciation.
As a result, the Brazilian was able to look for a new challenge transfer-free. Feyenoord quickly reported and good conversations with coach Arne Slot caught him over the line. He thus walks the opposite road of Steven Berghuis, who exchanged De Kuip for the Johan Cruijff Arena last summer. Five years ago, Ajax paid two million euros to Santos for Danilo, who had a successful rental period at FC Twente in 2020.
The arrival of Danilo is separate from the future of Cyriel Dessers. Feyenoord is still trying to permanently take over the Belgian from KRC Genk, but he has a price tag of four million euros. In addition, Dessers has also aroused the interest of other clubs. Bryan Linssen is facing a departure. He will soon sign with Japans Urawa Red Diamonds.
