De Boer gets Joël Drommel at the Dutch team

Joël Drommel is allowed to report to the Dutch team for the first time on Monday. Federal coach Frank de Boer has called the 23 year old goalkeeper of FC Twente for the upcoming interland period.

Drommel replaces Justin Bijlow, the goalkeeper of Feyenoord who suffered an injury to his right foot during the warm-up before the duel with FC Groningen on Sunday.

Bijlow (22) was in turn called for Oranje a day earlier as a replacement for Jasper Cillessen. The number one under the bar on the national team is also struggling with an injury.

Tim Krul (Norwich City) and Marco Bizot (AZ) are the other goalkeepers in De Boers selection. The 32-year-old Krul played nine interlands, Bizot is still waiting for his debut in Oranje. De Boer plays on Wednesday with his team a training match against Spain and then hits Bosnia and Herzegovina and Poland in the Nations League.

Bannis extends

There is also good news for Feyenoord. Naoufal Bannis is going to renew his expiration contract with Feyenoord. The 18-year-old striker from The Hague reached an oral agreement with the club leadership on a commitment until the summer of 2023.

“ This is good for Feyenoord and also good for Bannis”, said trainer Dick Advocate shortly before the competition duel with FC Groningen. “He is 18 years old and still has to live up to it. Three years, thats excellent for him, but also for Feyenoord.”

In 2016, Bannis exchanged ADO Den Haags youth training for Feyenoord. Two years later, he signed his first professional contract. The striker debuted at the beginning of last season in the main power, but a real breakthrough was not at that time. “After a somewhat lesser period, he fought his way back this year,” says technical director Frank Arnesen. “He is now much stronger and is really ready to fight for his place.”
