A fire in a nursing home in Berlin has demanded at least one life, according to the German capitals fire department. There have been several casualties.
The cause of the fire was not clarified early on Wednesday morning. Nor could the dead be identified yet. “The body was completely charred,” said the spokesman for the fire brigade.
The nursing home was completely evacuated after the fire on Tuesday night, the police report. At least 15 people involved received victim support. According to the first reports of the Berlin fire brigade, three people have been seriously injured. A dozen came off with minor injuries. The residents of the nursing home struggled to get out because of the thick smoke.
One of the rooms in the nursing home is completely burnt out. About 140 men of emergency services ripped out.
