Death toll due to collapse restaurant China rises to 29

The number of deaths due to the collapse of a restaurant in the north of China has risen from 17 to 29. According to the Chinese authorities, there are 28 injured, seven of whom are seriously injured.

The restaurant collapsed unexpectedly yesterday. The two-storey building was located in the province of Sanxi, more than 600 kilometres southwest of Beijing. The authorities are not yet reporting a possible cause.

The rescue operation has been completed. Hundreds of rescue workers searched for survivors in the rubble.
