Derksen comes with transfer news: Groningen has succeeded Padt

Peter Leeuwenburgh will be the new goalkeeper of FC Groningen. Thats what Johan Derksen says Monday night at Veronica Inside. The nestor of the TV show knows that the 27-year-old goalie will be medical examinations on Tuesday.
Derksen says that the transfer from Leeuwenburgh to Groningen is almost complete and that the goalkeeper will be presented this week if the medical inspection does not cause any problems. Over the past three seasons, Leeuwenburgh was under contract with Cape Town City in South Africa
s highest division.
However, the current season in South Africa was shut down and so the 1 meter 96 long goalkeeper hoped to be able to return to the Netherlands. Earlier he completed the entire youth education of Ajax and spent a year on a rental basis for FC Dordrecht. It didnt come to a debut in the first team of the reigning country champion.
Leeuwenburgh was also in action for Oranje under 17 and Oranje under 19. Groningen sees in him the perfect successor for Sergio Padt, who will leave for Ludogorets after this season.
