Director (76) throat slit, French manhunt for knife puller

The police in Montpellier, southern France, is pursuing a manhunt for a knife puller who has slit his throat, known in France, Alain Françon.

76-year-old Françon collapsed in a pool of blood after the attack at half in the morning. He was cut into the neck in the middle of the street in the historic center of the city. The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition. According to the Midi Libre, the carotid artery would have been affected.

The gun was found. The police have almost sealed the city off. Whether there is a relationship between Françon and the perpetrator is not yet known. Despite the brutality of the attack, a terrorist motive is more or less excluded.

Françon was awarded several times in his homeland and won a number of Molières as best director.
