Fans of Drake have to wait longer for his new album, Certified Lover Boy. The rapper announced on Wednesday that he postpones the release of the album in order to be able to focus on the recovery of an operation.
“ I was planning to release my album this month, but the surgery and rehabilitation have put all my energy in my recovery,” he said in his Stories. “Im glad Im back on my feet, Im doing well and I can focus on the album, but CLB wont be released in January. I look forward to sharing the record with you in 2021.”
The Canadian did not share any further details about the procedure, but posted a photo of his knee in a brace in October. Fans therefore assume that the 34-year-old has gone under the knife for that injury.
Certified Lover Boy will be Drakes sixth studio album and the successor to Scorpion from 2018, which broke Spotifys stream record on the day of its release when Scorpion played over 132 million times. The album resulted in Drake number 1 hits In My Feelings, Gods Plan and Nice For What.
