Nico Williams is having a great week. The Athletic Bilbao striker debuted against Switzerland on September 24, provided a major assist against Portugal three days later, and scored for the first time with his older brother Iñaki Williams in a La Liga game on Friday night.
The twenty-year-old winger was allowed by coach Luis Enrique to debut for the Spanish national team on Saturday last week. Thats what he did in the Nations League game with Switzerland losing 1—2. In the subsequent game with Portugal, Williams also made minutes. He was even important in the final phase with an assist on Alvaro Morata. Because of that victory, Spain secured a spot in the Final Four.
On Friday night, he was important again. In that 10th minute, he gave a perfect cross to his older brother, who headed in nicely. A little later, Nico himself signed for the 3-0, which is the first time that the brothers are jointly accurate in a competition game. Athletic, which ultimately won the game 4-0, is third in La Liga after Friday and has more points than FC Barcelona with a match.
