Tom Dumoulin is planning to drive a number of Flemish classics this spring. The Maastrichtenaar of Jumbo-Visma wants to start in the E3 Saxo Bank Classic and the Tour of Flanders.
That reports Cycling Flash. The rider will probably not be at the start this year in the Amstel Gold Race and two Ardennes classics, the Walloon Arrow and Liège-Bastogne-Liège.
Dumoulin wants to start his season in Italy with the triptych Strade Bianche on 6 March, Tirreno-Adriatico from 10 to 16 March and Milan – Sanremo on 20 March. The E3 Classic with finish in Harelbeke will take place on March 26th and the Tour of Flanders on April 4th.
According to the cycling website, Dumoulin skips the Amstel Gold Race and the Walloon classics. Hell be driving the Tour of Romandie. His team Jumbo-Visma has yet to announce the programme, including the choice for the big rounds.
