Dunkirk ship raided by large group of armed men

Between ten and twenty armed men have entered a ship in Dunkirk harbour on the night of Sunday to Monday and the crew have held hostage for some time. The ship had been there since October 2, after the customs authorities found 1100 kilos of cocaine. Those on board were detained and a new crew had boarded the Liberian flag freighter the Trudy.

Its a mystery what the robbers were looking for aboard the ship and whether they found it. The drugs were hidden in the Trudys official cargo at the beginning of this month and it was still on board. Its also not known where they left off. Security measures make it very difficult to enter or leave the port park unnoticed, write northern French media. According to some reports, there were Russian speakers among the robbers.
