Earthquake off the coast of Crete

East of Crete has been an earthquake under the seafloor with a force of 6.3. The epicenter was about 100 kilometres away from the capital of the Greek island, Heraklion. Authorities have warned against a tidal wave as a precaution. No casualties have been reported in Crete. According to the first reports, a small church has collapsed in the east of the island.

Almost at the same time, an earthquake near Karpathos Island has been reported. Thats about 80 kilometres east of Crete. That quake had a force of 4.5, according to the first reports.

More than two weeks ago, the island of Crete itself was struck by a 5.8 magnitude earthquake. Then a dead person fell and a dozen wounded.
