ED and BILD: Eisern Union to take over redundant PSV man Baumgartl

Timo Baumgartl returns to the Bundesliga after two years of PSV, BILD and the Eindhovens Dagblad report Friday night. Union Berlin is going to hire the defender from PSV.
Baumgartl was taken over from VfB Stuttgart in 2019, but soon lost its base spot. After the first training of the 2021/2022 season, PSV told him that he can look forward to a new employer. Eisern Union, which recently strengthened with Rick van Drongelen, takes over him on a rental basis. According to BILD, the surprising number seven of the previous Bundesliga season also stipulated a purchase option.
The conversations between the two clubs are in the final phase, the ED reports. So it‘s very important that the home game against Vitesse on February 21 was Baumgartl’s last service in Eindhoven. The former youth international came to 36 official performances on behalf of PSV in two years, where it is fixed until 2024. How much the Eindhoveners see from their 10 million euro purchases will still have to be seen.

Confirmation: Timo Baumgartl leaves for Union Berlin. So more.
