EK on the trek for Orange handball women?

Norway has withdrawn because of the coronapandemic as organiser of the upcoming European Championship handball for women. This has been done on the basis of the order of the health authorities and Norwegian politics.

The measures to reduce the virus in the Nordic country have become so strict that it is no longer possible to hold a large sports tournament with the arrival of many foreign participants.

The Dutch womens team would play all his group matches in the Norwegian city of Trondheim. The European Championship is scheduled from 3 to 20 December. The European handball federation is now trying to move the entire tournament to Denmark, which together with Norway would organise the European Championship.

The Dutch team is the reigning world champion. At the previous European Championship, two years ago, the handbalsters achieved bronze. Federal coach Emmanuel Mayonnade recently announced his final selection for the European Championships. Orange is divided into a pool with Hungary, Serbia and Croatia.

Serbia is the first opponent on 4 December. Where that competition will be finished is still unclear. For the time being, Herning has been designated as a playing city in Denmark. Two pools would be completed there in the group phase. The EHF wants to clarify the progress of the tournament no later than Tuesday.
