Ekkelenkamp becomes protagonist in Hertha debut against Viergever and Willems

Jรผrgen Ekkelenkamp has had a turbulent debut with Hertha BSC. The attacking midfielder made a goal after a minute. Ekkelenkamp even seemed to make a goal, but nothing turned out to be less true.
Hertha played in-house on Friday night playing Greuther Fรผrth. With the visitors Jetro Willems and Nick Viergever were in the base, Deyovaisio Zeefuik appeared on the kickoff at the home side. Ekkelenkamp was sitting on the couch.
The former midfielder of Ajax was allowed to fill in with Hertha in the sixtieth minute. Just before, Greuther Fรผrth had made 0-1 from the penalty spot. After Ekkelenkamp was on the pitch for a minute, Mรกrton Dรกrdai swung a corner in the sixteen-metre area. The former Ajacied was alert and headed: 1-1.
Twenty minutes later, Ekkelenkamp seemed to score again: Marco Richter gave a cross at the youth international, which was touched and disappeared behind goalkeeper Sascha Burchert. Ekkelenkamp thought he was giving the last touch and celebrated the goal profusely. However, that was not true: the ball was last touched by Maximilian Bauer, who gets his own goal to his name.
In the end, Hertha managed to win 2-1, making it ninth in the Bundesliga for now.
