Elijah: What it looks like now Im going to quit, have nothing to prove

Eljero Elia is considering ending his career soon. The 35-year-old attacker has been transfer-free since his contract with ADO Den Haag expired this summer.
Elia stuck at nine appearances in the Kitchen Champion Division this past season, after tearing off his anklets in early February. Although the thirty-time Dutch international is now fit again, it is questionable whether he will return to the field.
โ€œI don‘t know,โ€ says Elia at Omroep West. โ€œI’m only now fit again. Fortunately, I can run again and I‘ll see what happens. I never say never, but what it looks like now, I’m going to stop. I don‘t have anything to prove to anyone, so I’ll see it. I don‘t know yet.โ€
Elia went through ADO’
s youth school and also made her debut in professional football at that club. He then played for FC Twente, Hamburger SV, Juventus, Werder Bremen, Feyenoord and FC Utrecht. Last summer, the left winger returned to The Hague.
Elia, who was part of the Orange squad during the 2010 World Cup, celebrated his biggest successes with Feyenoord. Together with the Rotterdammers, he became national champion and won the KNVB Cup.
