Emmen on the edge of Eredivisie, Volendam finally wins again

FC Emmen, FC Volendam and FC Eindhoven have done good business in the fight for promotion to the Eredivisie. Emmen can secure direct promotion to the highest level next week, visiting FC Dordrecht.
FC Emmen – Jong AZ 3-0FC Emmen is heading for the championship in the Kitchen Champion Division in full speed. At home, Jong AZ was beaten 3-0 by goals by Miguel Araujo, Ole Romeny and Rui Mendes. With four games to go, Emmen has ten points ahead of number three FC Eindhoven. Should there be won from FC Dordrecht next week, direct promotion to the Eredivisie is a fact.
FC Volendam – De Graafschap 3-1FC Volendam has taken a crucial three-point against De Graafschap in the fight for direct promotion. After a goal by Robert Mühren, De Superboeren managed to do something back via Mees Kaandorp, but after rest Daryl van Mieghem Volendam – calculated against his old club – gave him the lead again. Koen Blommestijn took care of the 3-1 deep in injury time.
Volendam therefore stays in second place with 68 points out of 34 matches. It thus maintains the four points ahead of FC Eindhoven.
FC Eindhoven – Almere City 3-1FC Eindhoven did what it had to do against period frontrunner Almere City, but saw how competitors Emmen and Volendam also grabbed a three-point. Tim Receveur put Almere ahead after six minutes, but by goals of Charles-Andreas Brym (2x) and Jort van der Sande, Eindhoven won 3-1, allowing it to continue to hope for promotion to the Eredivisie.
