Javi Martínez leaves Bayern Munich after nine successful years. The Spanish defender and midfielder (32) decided, in agreement with the club, not to renew its expiration contract.
Martínez came to Der Rekordmeister in 2012 and won everything there was to win in southern Germany. In each season he was champion at the club, and there are also two Champions League titles, five German cups, two European Supercups and a World Cup to his name. The Spaniard will look for another challenge after this season.
On the website of Bayern, the strong defender is grateful. “I am proud to have been part of the Bayern family for nine years. I want to thank this great club and especially the fans. You made Munich my home. I will never forget the years here and Im sure that both the club and the fans are in my heart forever.”
The FC Bayern und @Javi8martinez sagen to neun gemeinsamen, sehr erfolgreichen Jahren einander Servus und aus tiefstem Herzen vielen Dank. #GraciasJavi ❤️ #MiaSanMia
