Angeliño signed a contract with RB Leipzig until mid-2025. The Germans have lifted the purchase option on the Spanish left-back and will finally take it over from Manchester City after this season.
The left leg, who played with NAC Breda and PSV in the Netherlands and then brought to England by City, impresses in Leipzig. He arrived on a rental basis in January 2020 and since then filled the ninety minutes for Die Roten Bullen in forty matches. With sixteen assists and nine goals, he was also important for the club.
Julian Nagelsmann, Angeliños trainer near Leipzig, is happy that his pupil is longer fixed. “He is an extremely good player who is very important to our game,” he says on the website. “From the beginning, he had an important role in our team and he can bring us much more. Yet he has developed very well and quickly and that is very impressive.”
The club did not disclose the amount for which the Spaniard is taken over, but German media mentioned a transfer amount of eighteen million euros. City would have a buy-back option of no less than 40 million.
