FC Barcelona thinks of Messi return: Its feasible, decision is him

FC Barcelona does not rule out Lionel Messi returning in the future. Vice President Eduard Romeu says that a return of the Argentine is feasible , although he puts the ball down to the coaching staff and Messi himself.
Messi still has a contract with Paris Saint-Germain until the summer of 2023, with an option for an additional season. Romeu insists that a return cannot cause financial problems. โ€œBecause he would return as a transfer-free player,โ€ he tells Catalunya Rร dio. โ€œThe decision must be made by the coaching staff and by the player himself. Im not the right person for that, but its achievable.โ€
โ€œHes a club icon, Barcelona will always be his home,โ€ Romeu continues. The Vice President also looks back on the past transfer window, during which a lot of money was spent for Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski. Although money was available to enter the transfer market, the dire situation has not yet been resolved. โ€œWe saved Barรงa, but the club is not financially healthy yet,โ€ said Romeu. โ€œThere is still a need to cut back and there is still a lot of work to do.โ€
Romeu expects the Catalans to be almost healthy again in the 2024/2025 season. The selection is asked by the club management led by Joan Laporta to surrender a salary. Frenkie de Jong has reportedly agreed to a salary reduction.
