FC Utrecht retrieves Ter Avest transfer free from Serie A to Eredivisie

FC Utrecht has brought Hidde ter Avest back to the top division. The former right-back of FC Twente comes across from the Italian Udinese, where he had landed on a siding. If he passes the medical examination tomorrow, Ter Avest signs a contract until the summer of 2024. Ter Avest had a permanent contract in Italy but was allowed to leave transfer-free.

Ter Avest started the season in Udine with a lot of playing minutes, but since the end of October only took eighteen minutes in Serie A, divided into two competition duels. Ter Avest was under contract with the Italians from the summer of 2018.

In Utrecht, the 23-year-old player is reunited with trainer Renรฉ Hake, with whom he already worked at Twente. Ter Avest will compete in the Domstad with the experienced clubman Mark van der Maarel. Giovanni Troupรฉe may therefore leave.

Last week Utrecht attracted defender Benaissa Benamar. The 23-year-old Moroccan came across from Telstar.

Elijah weeks disabled

The current number ten of the Eredivisie will have to do it in the next few weeks without Eljero Elia. The 33-year-old outdoor player had to go to the side after 35 minutes against FC Groningen (2-2) and is struggling with a hamstring injury.
