Ferrari chooses a special colour scheme for its two cars in the anniversary race next weekend at Mugello‘s own circuit.
To celebrate the thousandth race of the Italian race in the Fomule 1, the cars of Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc will be painted in burgundy. It is the original colour of the team, which was already there in 1950 in Formula 1.
The thousandth race is an important milestone and we should mark it in a special way. Hence this unique colour scheme, says Piero Ferrari, the vice-chairman of the race stable and son of founder Enzo Ferrari. It is a tribute to our origins, the beginning of Ferrari’s fantastic story in Formula 1
With those words he mainly referred to the past, because the last of the fifteen world titles that the red race stable captured among drivers dates back to 2007, with the Finn Kimi Räikkönen. Of the 999 grands prix that Ferrari has driven, the team won 238. Michael Schumacher triumphed most often for the team, namely 72 times.
This season Ferrari is experiencing one of its worst seasons. The low point was the elimination of Vettel and Leclerc last Sunday in the Grand Prix of Italy at Monza. The team does not hope for such a failure next Sunday in the Grand Prix of Tuscany. The circuit of Mugello is owned by Ferrari.
