Feyenoord cannot give a strong start and gets stuck on a tie

Feyenoord has failed to follow up the strong season opener against Vitesse (2-5). The Rotterdammers received Heerenveen in their own Kuip sc, which returned home with a point: 0-0.
Arne Slot started with the same eleven names as in the Gelredome last week. Once again, Sebastian Szymański and Quinten Timber were in midfield, with newcomers Javairô Dilrosun and Danilo in front of them. Feyenoord had the best of the game in the opening phase and was able to get the lead through Jacob Rasmussen. The centre-back saw his header burst onto the bar.
In the remainder of the first half, Feyenoord was unable to add any great opportunities. Heerenveen, on the other hand, had even less to contribute and was pushed back to its own half. However, the Rotterdam vanguard was too predictable to make it difficult for the Frisian defense.
As against Vitesse, Szymański was the standout on the Feyenoord side. For him, the game ended after seventy minutes, when Orkun Kökcü Castle brought in. Feyenoord was emphatically looking for the opening goal, but Heerenveen striker Amin Sarr was still close to that on the other side. Just before time, Jens Toornstra had the winning one on his shoe, but his shot came across the legs of Heerenveen goalie Andries Noppert.
Santiago Gimenez made his debut for Feyenoord ten minutes before time, but couldnt make the difference anymore. For Feyenoord, the first loss of points this season is a fact. Next Sunday, the Stadionclub will play the next game, visiting RKC Waalwijk.
