Feyenoord climbs to place two after a curious duel with Heracles thanks to Sinisterra

After a curiously expired home game against Heracles Almelo, Feyenoord jumped from place three to place two in the Eredivisie. The team of Arne Slot was not easy and had to overcome a backlog, but kept the points in the empty Kuip: 2-1 it became, courtesy of Luis Sinisterra.
The Colombian scored after just ten minutes, but it turned out to have cheered too early. The VAR saw an offence by Alireza Jahanbakhsh on Giacomo Quagliata and the hit was rejected by arbitrator Bas Nijhuis after long deliberation. Instead of 1-0, it even turned 0-1: Sinan Bakis appeared free for goalkeeper Ofir Marciano and helped Heracles get a lead.

Not long after the game was rocked by a nasty incident: Ismail Azzaoui appeared to be suffering a nasty knee injury in duel with Tyrell Malacia and had to get off the field by stretcher after an injury treatment of a few minutes. As a result, the first half was extended by eight minutes and Feyenoord seized his chance in the injury time. Janis Blaswich seemed to keep Heracles on his feet at a series of opportunities, but still had to fit when Sinisterra showed up freely for him again. This time the hit counted: 1-1.
Immediately after halftime, Heracles was allowed to smell a new lead. Delano Burgzorg got free job, but did not know how to disguise Marciano. Just when Blaswich appeared to have dragged Heracles through a new Feyenoord offensive, it was again Sinisterra who struck. The Colombian cooled the ball into the far corner and thus provided 2-1.
Heracles still had more than twenty minutes to do something about that backlog, but the predominantly entertaining match had a juicy end. Feyenoord only breathed a sigh of relief after a Bakis header and even left a big chance of 3-1 via Marcus Pedersen. Slots team comes to 32 points and reports to place two, one point below Ajax and one point above PSV. Sunday, the home game against Fortuna Sittard awaits. Heracles remains fourteenth and receives sc Heerenveen on Saturday.
