Feyenoord fans celebrate in Tirana, including incidents

On the eve of the Conference League final, fans of Feyenoord in Tirana have provided celebration and fun, as well as a confrontation with the police. Three officers were taken to a hospital injured, sources confirm to DecceIt. An Albanian citizen was also injured.

Feyenoord supporters gathered in the center of the Albanian capital since the afternoon. On the street, party was celebrated, sung and drunk, mostly in a relaxed atmosphere. โ€œIve never seen Tirana like this,โ€ tweeted a close employee of the mayor.

Social media is full of footage of partying fans. Several thousand people have traveled from the Netherlands to Tirana for the final of Feyenoord against AS Roma. In total, the Albanian authorities expect 15,000 to 20,000 Dutch people. By far the majority of them do not have a ticket to the game: UEFA has made 3000 tickets available to Feyenoord fans.

So later in the evening, disturbances arose. Feyenoord supporters hit a bar with a 45-year-old Albanian, reports Albanian police. The man was injured and is in a hospital. The police have arrested eight supporters.

A larger group of fans also sought a confrontation with the police. Footage shows that a police car has been destroyed. At least three officers were injured in the process.

Feyenoord will play the Conference League final against AS Roma at 9pm. It is the first European final in twenty years for the Rotterdammers.
