Feyenoord will play football in Lucerne, Switzerland, under special circumstances. The field in the Lucerne Arena is not entirely even, coach Arne Slot has already found.
Slot doesnt have many complaints about the quality of turf, he lets you know for ESPNs cameras. “But he seems to be walking up a bit on one side around the goal,” he laughs. “The field is fine, you know. But thats special, it looks like its a little steep up. Uphill or downhill? A very small piece.”
Bryan Linssen has also noticed that Feyenoord is going to play on a non-commonplace field. “Here it goes more in a pit (compared to the stadiums in the Netherlands, ed.). If it rains very much, I think it stays here. No joh, the field is good and the circumstances are fine too.”
Feyenoord and FC Luzern kick off at 8:30 p.m. Thursday. The winner of the diptych hits IF Elfsborg (Sweden) or Velez Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina) in the last Conference League heat.
