First ‘Best Young Player in Europe award’ to be won by Ajax player

Nikita Tromp has been named Europes best talent in womens football. The Ajax attacker received the award in Barcelona on Monday.
The election, organised by Spanish sports newspaper El Mundo Deportivo, is the female variant of the Golden Boy award. This year, the award was first presented and Tromp was the lucky recipient at the European Womens Football Gala. The nineteen year old attacker earned the prize with her performance at Ajax.
In her first full season for the Amsterdam women, she signed twelve goals in twenty games. Daphne Koster, manager of the Ajax Women, sees it satisfied. โ€œA very nice recognition for both Nikita and Ajax. Talent development is also of paramount importance among the Women.โ€
โ€œThe fact that Nikita joined the Talent Team a few years ago and is now playing in the first, indicates that she has undergone a nice development,โ€ Koster continues. โ€œIt
s wonderful to see that this is also noticed internationally. We hope this gives an extra boost to Ajaxs ever-growing girl branch.โ€
