First flight of Mars helicopter postponed

This night should have been an exciting night for scientists from NASA space agency. The Mars helicopter was supposed to fly on the planet for the first time. But during one last test, everything went wrong. Thats why the flight has been postponed.

On Earth, scientists are investigating exactly whats going on. Theyre hoping the chopper can get in the air next week. According to NASA, it looks something like this:

The helicopter should stay in the air for about 20 to 30 seconds and fly no more than three meters high. It is planned that it will later operate longer flights.

Larger helicopter

With the test flights NASA wants to investigate whether they can send a larger helicopter to Mars in a while. It can then get to places where the cars that now drive on Mars are not able to reach.
