The leftback quickly gave the ball to Luciano Narsingh who played Queensy Opinions. The latter kept a cool head and shot Twente at the head start.
Not much later Vitesse got a second damper to deal with. Seasoning Oussama Tannane had to stop the game due to a suspected hamstring injury. Shortly before, the attacker escaped a red card after he got ugly on his feet with Ramiz Zerrouki.
In the first minute after rest Narsingh should have doubled the score for Twente. The attacker skilfully tapped the ball over the hatched Remco Pasveer, but headed the ball too slowly towards the empty target. Maximilian Wittek was able to remove the ball just before the line.
In the remainder of the race Vitesse started to push something, but the Arnhemmers did not become really dangerous. Only in a volley of Oussama Darfalou was an opportunity, but the ball flew over the goal of Twente. In the final second Twente played a counter great and Thijs van Leeuwen drew for the final score: 0-2.
